Last weekend, I bought some nail clippers for Barney. I knew I had trouble from the moment I read the instructions. It was battery operated. It said first that your dog should be calm. Ha! Barney is never calm. When he comes into the house, he is running, upsetting the other animals, jumping on the furniture, etc. It said I should introduce my animal to the trimmer. What was I suppose to do? Let him naw on it? Then it said I should introduce my animal to the trimmer while the trimmer while it was running? I know most dogs would run from it or attack it. Any way I tried to trim those toe nails. I got on the couch. If I sat in my recliner, Barney would be in my lap. Barney got upon the couch with me. Rick was holding him and petting him to calm him down. I started to trim those nails. Barney started jerking his foot back. Then he lightly began to gnaw my hands. That was it for the nail trim. I bought the manual clippers too. I was afraid to clip them with him. I might get into the quick.
We were letting him get used to being inside. Rick fix him a water bowl. He said that Barney was thirsty. I got up to go to the bathroom and I saw Barney’s water bowl. Rick had used my cake cover top and turn it into Barney’s water bowl. I thought I would scream. When we first got Barney, Rick brought him a 5 gal. plastic bucket for water. In a months time Barney had chewed up the bucket. Not just a little. He chewed the whole thing up. Rick brought him a steel drawer ( it was deep ) to drink out of. So far, Barney hasn’t chewed that up. But, Barney just loves everyone. He doesn’t have a clue about how Mo Mo the kitty O hates him. Barney thinks he knows how to play with Mo Mo. When he first came here Mo Mo just kept slapping him. So, he thinks that’s how Mo Mo plays. He started slapping at Mo Mo. Mo Mo doesn’t like that. Muffin has gotten to where she doesn’t bark at him unless Barney started to eat her food. Only I can have a house full of psychotic animals.
